My report from the FEI Course for Coaches Level 2 in Croatia – May 2009
As usual, if there are any courses that I can benefit from, I will do my best to try to attend and learn. However, as a Taiwanese, it is not very easy to apply for a Croatian visa because of the relations or lack thereof. For the visa, you need to have an invitation letter in Croatian, return tickets, bank statement, travel insurance, application form, photos, passport etc. It all has to be sent to the Croatian embassy, either in Japan or in China, by a travel agent. It will take about 30 to 45 days. It depends on how soon the travel agent will do it, because they won’t send it until there are certain number of applications to go. I was lucky to have a friend in Beijing who took care of it for me in just two weeks. Basically, I was not afraid of taking this course in a foreign country at all because of I am a person who is always willing to learn and tackle challenges with the knowledge that I have. Croatia was a totally unfamiliar environment for me. I knew nothing about the horses, the riders or the other coaches. All I knew was myself and I did my best to learn from this course. It is not a difficult course, if you are well prepared, have good experience, good communication skills and good confidence. Although I was not happy with my result, it was acceptable. I really had a wonderful experience. It was a very expensive trip for me, but the trip enriched my experience and my life. It helped me make decisions about my future equestrian life. Thank you Mr. Strijbosh. Thank you Croatia.
Please alse see the report from Mr. Petrovic from the Photos from the course in Croatia.
